Process & FAQ

How your new floor gets built

From first call to final walkthrough, here is exactly what working with Skilled Bros Epoxy looks like.

Booking

From quote to install day

  1. Tell Us About the Floor

Call or send the quote form with rough size, condition, and the look you want. Photos help.

  2. Straight Quote

You get the system we recommend, the price, and the schedule in plain language.

  3. Deposit Locks It In

Your deposit reserves the install date and materials. Travel fees are quoted up front if they apply.

  4. Install & Walkthrough

We prep, pour, seal, then walk the finished floor with you before we load the trailer.

On the Slab

The install itself

This is the part most companies rush. It is the part we refuse to.

  1. Diamond Grind

Machine grinding opens the concrete's pores so the coating bonds into the slab, not onto dust and sealer.

  2. Repair & Patch

Cracks, spalls, and pits get filled and honed flat. The finished floor is only as smooth as this step.

  3. Coat & Broadcast

Base coat down, then flake broadcast to full rejection, or metallic pigment hand worked while it cures.

  4. Seal & Cure

A chemical resistant topcoat locks everything in. We give you exact walk on and drive on times for your system.

FAQ

Questions everyone asks

How long does an epoxy floor take?
Most residential flake garages are installed in one to two days depending on slab condition and system. Metallic floors and larger commercial jobs take longer. Your quote includes an exact schedule with cure times before you can walk or park on it.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A deposit locks in your install date and materials. Deposits, travel fees, and the cancellation policy are agreed at booking and are non negotiable. They protect your slot and our crew's time.
Do you charge a travel fee?
Jobs outside our core Greater Houston area carry a travel fee. You will see it in your quote before you commit, never after.
Why grind instead of acid etch?
Grinding mechanically opens the pores of the concrete so the coating bonds into the slab. Acid etching is the shortcut that causes peeling and hot tire delamination later. We do not take it.
Will hot tires peel the coating?
Not when the floor is prepped and built right. Hot tire pickup is almost always a prep failure, which is exactly why we grind and repair every slab before a drop of coating goes down.
Can you coat over old epoxy or paint?
Usually. We grind failing coatings off back to sound concrete first. Mention what is on the floor now in your quote request and include a photo so we can price removal accurately.
